Therapeutic Activation Program for Seniors

Therapeutic Activation Program for Seniors (TAPS)

The Therapeutic Activation Program for Seniors (TAPS) at WEGCSS, funded by United Way British Columbia, supports older adults (50+) who may face challenges connecting socially on their own. TAPS provides a welcoming, inclusive space where participants can learn, socialize, and thrive.

The program offers recreational, educational, and social activities designed to promote personal growth, engagement, and well-being. Activities are tailored to a variety of mobility, cognitive, and emotional needs, with a holistic, strengths-based, and person-centered approach. Transportation is available to ensure participants can attend safely and easily.

Weekly sessions (pre-registration required, seating limited Tuesday–Thursday):

  • Tuesdays – New Denver at Knox Hall
  • Wednesdays – Slocan at Slocan Legion
  • Thursdays – Passmore Hall

Each session includes:

  • Healthy meals
  • Gentle exercise
  • Engaging activities and workshops
  • Community outings throughout the year
Friday Social Hub – Winlaw Hall, 1–3 PM (excluding stat holidays)
Fridays feature a relaxed Social Hub session focused on connection, conversation, and fun. Sessions include healthy snacks and engaging social activities/games, but the emphasis is on building community and fostering meaningful connections. Fridays are flexible: a small one-time registration applies, drop-ins are welcome, and there is no capacity limit.
